Reading Fightin Phils

Fightin Phils fall despite Hewitt's heroics

Anthony Hewitt hit two home runs, but it wasn't enough as the Fightin Phils fell to Richmond Saturday night, 6-5 at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Hewitt hit a solo homer in the third inning to cut the lead to 4-1, and a three-run blast in the seventh to cut the lead to 6-5.

But Reading could get no closer.  The Fightins left the tying run in scoring position in the ninth inning.

Austin Wright (2-4, 8.03) took the loss on the mound.  The loss quelled a 7-2 stretch for Reading.

The Fightin Phils (31-42) will wrap up their series with Richmond on Sunday at 1:35pm in Baseballtown.
