Nieves, Fox lead Fightin Phils to doubleheader sweep

The Fightin Phils earned a pair of one-run wins Saturday night for a doubleheader sweep of New Britain in Baseballtown.

The Fightins posted 1-0 and 3-2 wins, with the nightcap coming on a walk-off, bases loaded single by Jake Fox.

In game one, Phillies catcher Wil Nieves drove in the lone Reading run, scoring Albert Cartwright in the sixth inning.

Nieves, who is rehabbing a quad injury, started at catcher for the Fightin Phils.  Cartwright went 3-for-3 on the night.

Ryan O'Sullivan (4-5, 3.38) got the win on the mound, while Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez earned the save.

In game two, Kelly Dugan had a pair of RBIs before Fox's game-winning hit in the seventh inning.

Nefi Ogando (3-1, 6.92) picked up the win in relief.

The Fightin Phils (41-56) will wrap up their series New Britain on Sunday at 1:35pm at FirstEnergy Stadium.
