Utley held hitless as Fightin Phils fall

Chase Utley went 0-for-5 in his second rehab appearance in Baseballtown Thursday night.

Utley had a strike out, two ground outs, and two fly outs, one of which went down as the final out in the game.

Utley played all nine innings, and once again looked good in the field and running the bases.

There is no official word on what the next step will be, though he may be activated by the Phillies before Friday night's game against the Mets.

The Fightin Phils ended up losing the game to Portland 5-2 at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Jesse Biddle (3-7, 3.29) gave up all five runs on six hits in six innings of work.

Biddle struck out five and walked six in the game.

The Fightin Phils runs came on a two-run single by Sebastian Valle in the second inning.

Reading (29-41) will open a weekend series with Richmond on Friday night at 7:05pm in Baseballtown.
