Galvis hospitalized with MRSA; Ruf to miss 4-6 weeks

The Phillies announced on Friday that infielder Freddy Galvis has been hospitalized with a MRSA infection.

Galvis, who was set to open the year as the team's utility infielder, will be hospitalized indefinitely and will open the season on the disabled list.

Darin Ruf will also open the year on the disabled list.

Ruf strained his oblique muscle during batting practice on Thursday, and will miss 4-6 weeks.
