Roberto Hernandez traded to Dodgers

Phillies trade veteran righty to L.A.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Phillies have traded right-handed pitcher Roberto Hernandez to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for a pair of players to be named later.

The Dodgers claimed Hernandez off waivers after Philadelphia was silent at the July trading deadline.

Hernandez made 20 starts for the Phils this season, turning in a solid 3.87 ERA.

Hernandez was set to be a free agent at season's end. He signed a $4.5 million contract with the Phillies this season. The Dodgers will assume the remaining $1.5 million.
