POTTSTOWN, Pa. - This fall marks the beginning of a new era for Pottsgrove football. Bill Hawthorne is the new head coach as he takes over for legendary Rick Pennypacker, who retired after last season.
Hawthorne was an assistant in the programs for 18 years before taking the top post, but still will have big shoes to fill as he takes over for a man who has the field named after him.
In addition to Pennypacker, the Falcons also lost leading rusher Rahsul Faison, who led the team to the District 1 4A championship a year ago.
The team does return all-league standout Ryan Bodolus and quarterback Jay Sisko.
Hawthorne says you may see a little more passing from Pottsgrove this fall.
