EAGLES CAMP: Ertz eager to make strides this year

Tight end could become valuable offensive weapon

Zach Ertz eyes breakout season

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Second-year tight end Zach Ertz has hit the ground running at training camp this year. Soon enough, the versatile playmaker could become one of Nick Foles' top targets.

After a slow start in camp last season, Ertz came around and had one of the most productive seasons for any Eagles' rookie.

With the departure of DeSean Jackson, Ertz is seen as a guy who could step into one of the premier roles on the offensive side of the ball.

The Stanford product says training camp has been much easier this season. He's focused much more on the blocking aspect of his game, which could go a long way to complimenting his already dangerous pass catching ability.
