BOYERTOWN, Pa. -

The Boyertown (5-4, 7-4 in 2013) football program is under new leadership heading into the coming season. George Parkinson has taken over as head coach. He's brought a new team focus and attitude with him.

Parkinson spent four seasons as head coach at Boyertown East Junior High. That built the foundation for the relationships and bonds he has with his players today.

The new head man has cultivated that relationship into a "team-first" and "family" themed attitude amongst his players. It's a motto they have embraced.

The Bears lost some big playmakers to graduation after last season, most notably tailback Cody Richmond. The lines were also decimated by departing seniors.

But the Bears are confident that they have the tools, and the focus, to be relevant in the PAC-10 this year.
