LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. - The Lehigh men's basketball team clinched a home game in the upcoming Patriot League quarterfinals with a victory over Colgate Wednesday night. The Lafayette women battled first place Bucknell, but the Bison wound up pulling away in Easton.
At Stabler Arena, senior center Tim Kempton finished with his 16th double-double of the season, scoring 22 points and pulling down 11 rebounds to go with six steals, leading Lehigh to an 87-69 win over Colgate to clinch a home game in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League tournament.
Lehigh went on a 20-2 run to end the first half to help put away the Raiders.
Junior Jordan Robertson finished with a season-high 20 points for Colgate, while junior Jordan Swopshire added 19 points, while freshman Will Rayman chipped in 11 points.
At Kirby Sports Center, the Lafayette women battled the Patriot League leaders from Bucknell, but in the end, the Bison pulled away for a 79-65 victory.
Kaitlyn Slagus led all scorers for Bucknell with 19 points.
Olivia Gumbs scored 15 points to pace the Leoaprds, with Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby scoring another 13.
