Penguins open key home-and-home with 4-1 win over Phantoms

Penguins post key win over Phantoms, 4-1

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - After taking a 1-0 lead through the opening period, the Phantoms allowed four unanswered goals to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday night in a key 4-1 setback to the Atlantic Division leaders inside PPL Center.

Max Lamarche got the Phantoms on the board and in the lead in the opening period.

But after that, it was a steady dose of the Penguins, who didn't allow a goal themselves the rest of the way.

Lehigh Valley falls to five points back of the division-leading baby Pens.

The same two teams meet Saturday night up the Northeast Extension at 7:05.
