Phillies Hernandez to miss six weeks

Phillies second baseman Cesar Hernandez will miss at least six weeks with a strained oblique.

Manager Pete Mackanin made that announcement on Tuesday.

Howie Kendrick is expected to man second base while Hernandez is out.

No word on whether the Phillies might consider calling up Reading second baseman Scott Kingery, who has excelled this season with the Fightin Phils.
