Bowa named advisor

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Phillies Vice President and General Manager Matt Klentak announced that Larry Bowa has been named senior advisor to the general manager on Friday.

Former manager Pete Mackanin was also moved to the front office earlier this month, as the Phillies coaching shakeup continues.

Bowa has been the Phillies' bench coach for the last four years.

He has been in baseball for 52 years in a wide variety of roles, 33 of those coming with Philadelphia.

Other Phillies coaches have been given permission to look for opportunities elsewhere as the search for a new manager continues.
