Phillies tie Pirates in spring training finale

Arrieta makes second start

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Pirates tied at five at Spectrum Field in the Phillies' final spring training game on the season. Philly finished the pre-season with a 13-17 record.

Jake Arrieta started the game, his second since joining the Phillies. The ace surrendered four runs on seven hints during three innings of work. All four runs were earned and were scored in the first inning.

The Phillies put up four runs in one inning themselves in the fifth inning, including a solo home run by Aaron Altherr.

The Pirates clubbed 12 hits in the tie.

Philadelphia was up 5-4 until a ninth inning sole homerun tied the game at five.
