Pigs Extend Record Win Streak with Sweep

Cozens hits longest HR in Coca-Cola Park history

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- Tom Eshelman tossed a five-hit complete game and Rhys Hoskins homered and had two hits, driving in two, as the Lehigh Valley IronPigs topped the Buffalo Bisons 7-2 in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday.

Eshelman (2-0) picked up the win after he struck out two and walked one while allowing two runs.

Lehigh Valley started the scoring in the first inning when Hoskins hit a solo home run.

The IronPigs later added one run in the second and third innings and four in the fifth to secure the victory.

Mat Latos (0-1) went 4 2/3 innings, allowing seven runs and eight hits in the International League game. He also struck out four and walked two.

With the win, Lehigh Valley improved to 5-1 against Buffalo this season.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- Jake Thompson allowed just two hits over five innings, leading the Lehigh Valley IronPigs over the Buffalo Bisons in a 1-0 win in the second game of a doubleheader on Sunday. The IronPigs swept the four-game series with the win.

Pedro Beato got Rowdy Tellez to ground out with a runner on second to end the game for his ninth save of the season.

Thompson (2-3) struck out four and walked one to get the win.

The game's only run was scored in the bottom of the fifth inning. After leading off the inning with a double, Nick Williams scored on a single by Cameron Perkins.

John Stilson (0-2) went one inning, allowing one run and three hits in the International League game.

The Bisons were blanked for the fifth time this season, while the IronPigs' staff recorded their sixth shutout of the year.

The IronPigs swept both games of the doubleheader after winning the first game 7-2. With the win, Lehigh Valley improved to 6-1 against Buffalo this season.
