Pitching powers Pigs past PawSox

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs defeated the Pawtucket Red Sox 8-1 at Coca-Cola Park on Thursday night. The win improve the team's record to 38-28 and put them 10 games above .500 for the first time this season.

Ben Lively pitched seven innings and allowed just one while scattering six hits. He also struck out five batters as he earned the win on the mound. The bullpen backed him up as Tom Windle and Zac Curtis pitched scoreless innings.

Offensively, Adron Chambers went 2-2 with two RBIS and a run. Also, Dean Anna was 2-4 with two RBIS, and two runs. The team plated five runs in the second inning as the team batted around in the frame.

The two teams face off in the second game of the four-game set on Friday night at 7:05 p.m.
