Twin Valley captured its second straight BCIAA field hockey championship on Wednesday night with a 1-0 overtime victory over Oley Valley.
Natalie Wilkinson buried a loose ball in front of the cage three minutes into the overtime period to lift the Raiders (10-0, 20-1) over the Lynx (8-0, 18-2-1) for the second consecutive year.
Both teams had goals disallowed in the first half. Maggie Fries appeared to have struck first for Oley and Kelee LePage looked to have the equalizer for the Raiders, but on both occasions, the officials conferred and waved them off.
Prior to Wilkinson's game-winner in overtime, Oley Valley's Erin Gillingham rushed through the entire Twin Valley defense and nearly scored, but she was fouled and the Lynx were given a penalty stroke.
Skyler Fretz had a chance to end it, but her penalty stroke sailed over the cage.
The Raiders responded as LePage threw a shot on net. The Oley defense made a great stand on the goal-line, but Wilkinson was there to put it away and win it for the Raiders.
Both teams will now look ahead to the District III tournament.
