Reading triumphs in shootout over Monarchs

MANCHESTER, NH - The Reading Royals earned a fifth-round shootout win over the Manchester Monarchs 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at SNHU Arena. Reading's Matt Willows scored the winner in the shootout.

The Royals are 3-0 in shootouts this season.

Reading goaltender Branden Komm made 35 saves in the winning effort against his former team.

Nick Luukko scored scored the first goal of the contest for the Royals in the first period.

The team now heads to Orlando for a three-game swing in Florida. Reading takes to the ice next on March 1.
