PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Phillies acquired first baseman Justin Bour from the Miami Marlins, according to a report from Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The move was later confirmed by the teams.
In addition to Bour, the Phillies reportedly received cash considerations. In exchange, the team sent minor league pitcher McKenzie Mills to Miami.
Also according to Rosenthal's sources, Philadelphia claimed Bour on waivers and the two sides then worked out a trade.
Bour is hitting .227 with 19 home runs and 54 RBIs so far this season.
To make room for him on the 40-man roster, the Phillies designated pitcher Jake Thompson for assignment.
