Royals complete season sweep of K-Wings

READING, PA - At the Sovereign Center, the Reading Royals captured their 22nd home victory of the season with a 3-1 win over the Kalamazoo Wings. The win also completed a regular season sweep over Kalamazoo.

After a slow first period, Kalamazoo jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Mitch Versteeg beat Reading goaltender Brandon Anderson.  Reading answered later in the second as Nikita Kashirsky scored  his first goal crossing in front of the net.

Reading broke the tie early in the third period as David Vallorani shot a rebound past Kalamazoo goaltender Joel Martin.  Kashirsky added an insurance goal late in the third period to give Reading the 3-1 win.  Kashirsky finished with 2 goals and an assist and goalie Brandon Anderson finished with 20 saves on 21 opportunities.

Reading hits the ice again Saturday night in Trenton.
