Royals contain Beast, win 5-1

READING, Pa. - The Reading Royals scored early and often in a 5-1 home win over the Brampton Beast at the Santander Arena on Saturday night.

The Beast struck first with a early first period goal, but the Royals responded with five straight, unanswered goals to earn the win on their home ice. Brampton did not hold the lead for long as Reading tied the game at one just 47 seconds after the opening goal.

Matt Wilkins, Brian Morgan, Adam Schmidt, and Chris McCarthy all scored for the Royals.

Anthony Stolarz started in goal and recorded 31 saves for the Royals and the winning effort.

As part of the evening's festivities, the Royals inducted Yannick Tifu into the organization's Wall of Honor and retired his jersey. Tifu was a team captain on the 2013 squad that won the Kelly Cup.
