The Berks Catholic and Wyomissing football teams are playing well with the Backyard Brawl looming. But both teams think they can improve before that game arrives.
The Saints (3-0, 7-0) have endured many injuries this season, but have still found a way to be successful with a depth of talent on both sides of the ball.
B.C. is coming off win at Hamburg. The Saints won the game comfortably, but the team would still like see some improvement on the offensive side of the football. Specifically, Rick Keeley wants his team to finish off drives in the red-zone much more efficiently.
Of course, the Saints still have the highest-scoring offense in the Berks League.
Wyomissing (3-0, 4-3) is coming on strong at the right time in the season.
The defending state champions challenged themselves with a difficult non-league schedule early, and the team is convinced that that has contributed to its current success.
The Spartans have won three of their last four and have kept the pressure on Berks Catholic.
Both teams will be favored in the next few weeks before their showdown in Week 10 at Berks Catholic which could decide the Section II winner once again.
