Whitehall's Cinderella run reaches PIAA state final

Whitehall reaches state title game

The Whitehall baseball team's improbable run through the PIAA state tournament has taken the Zephyrs all the way to the championship game.

The Zephyrs beat Wallenpaupack 6-2 in Scranton on Monday in the PIAA 5A state semifinal round.

They will face Greater Latrobe on Thursday at 5:30pm at Penn State for the championship.

Whitehall went .500 during the regular season and just 6-10 within the EPC.

But they won the District 11 tournament and are now just one win away from state gold.
