Wilson WL girls staying focused despite high expectations
The Wilson West Lawn girl's basketball team has a strong core of talent back for the upcoming season. Even though the Bulldogs know they can put together something special this season, the team has taken a very humble approach through the first few weeks of practice.
Doug Myer's team won 27 games last year, including a county and district title. However, the Bulldogs were knocked off by North Penn in the state tournament, a game the Bulldogs know they could have won.
But the team has done a nice job of burying that game in the past, and has moved on to the prospect of an exciting season. Led by returners Carley Brew, Avery Marz and Jessie Wallace, Wilson is primed to, perhaps, surpass last season's success.
The team has taken the right steps in practice so far, focusing on a day-to-day basis and figuring how the unit can improve step-by-step.
For a team that already has deep talent, the Bulldogs could turn in a season for the history books with a mentality like that.
