Zambrano wins rehab start in Reading
Carlos Zambrano pitched well and picked up the win in his rehab start in Reading Saturday night, salvaging the final game of a doubleheader split against Harrisburg.
Zambrano pitched six strong innings, allowing just one run on three hits and striking out seven, leading the Fightin Phils to a 2-1 win in game two of the doubleheader at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Anthony Hewitt hit an RBI double and Derrick Mitchell plated the go-ahead run with an RBI triple to pace the Fightins' offense.
In game one, Jesse Biddle threw seven impressive innings, allowing just four hits and one run, but suffered a tough-luck 1-0 loss to the Senators.
Biddle (3-6, 3.03) took a shutout into the seventh inning before surrendering the game-winning home run to Sandy Leon.
The Fightin Phils (23-36) will resume their series with the Senators on Sunday at 1:35pm at FirstEnergy Stadium.
