Jaime Wagner from Fleetwood Elementary School

Winner - Nov. 2017: Teachers Are Heroes

Philosophy of Education

Education Biography: I graduated from West Chester University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master’s Degree in Classroom Technology in 2012 from Wilkes University. I began my teaching career at Fleetwood Elementary School in 2006 as a Daily Substitute in all 3 elementary buildings. In 2007, I received a contract and taught half-day kindergarten both at Richmond and Fleetwood Elementary schools. From 2008-2012 I taught full day Kindergarten and moved to Willow Creek Elementary when it opened. I began my current position as a 4th grade teacher in 2012.

I believe that teaching is not just the act of instructing a child. It is the ability to play multiple-roles in your students’ lives, provide a safe and positive environment, support a child both academically and emotionally, set high expectations, and believe every child has the potential to grow and succeed. It also means learning and laughing along with students each day!
