LVHN celebrates new Family Birth and Newborn Center

New facility in Bethlehem

Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg held a baby shower Saturday to celebrate the much anticipated arrival of its new Family Birth and Newborn Center.

The new pavilion is scheduled to open this summer at the network’s Muhlenberg complex.

LVHN experts say the new facility will provide expectant mothers and their families with a unique experience, specifically tailored to their needs.

"We might be able to have a more holistic approach and a more say fun approach to labor, whether that is dancing during labor or having hydrotherapy, we're just kind of evolving to a new way of looking at things.” Vice President of Women’s and Children’s Services Mary Bianchi said.

In addition to new rooms and amenities several programs like baby yoga will also be available to moms both before and after they give birth.

Expectant Mother Macarena Khoury said she is very happy that all of her needs can be met at the same location.

Experts at LVHN said they want the new facility to help mothers feel comfortable and supported throughout their pregnancy.
