Lehigh Co - Rt 309 Improvement Project

PennDOT Engineering District 5 announced that a project to improve PA 309 in Upper Saucon Township and Coopersburg Borough, Lehigh County will begin Monday, Feb. 20.  

The project calls for the resurfacing of PA 309 between Center Valley Parkway in Upper Saucon Township to Fairmount Street in Coopersburg Borough. Other work includes base repair, shoulders paving, guide rail upgrades, new pavement markings, minor bridge rehabilitation, with other miscellaneous items.

Beginning on Tuesday, February 21 and throughout the duration of the project, motorists should expect nighttime lane restriction in both directions of PA 309 Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Also, on February 20 through February 24 there will be daytime (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) lane restrictions in both directions of PA 309. There may be additional daytime lane restriction during the project, updates will be sent as needed.

Construction is expected to be completed in August. Schedules are weather dependent and are subject to change.

James D. Morrissey, Inc.of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the $2,747,450 project.
