-May 20: PennDOT will be milling Linden Street between Elizabeth Ave and Dewberry Ave and will need to restrict lanes with flagmen from 9am – 3pm.
-May 20: Lehigh will be having their graduation ceremonies, therefore expect heavy traffic around the 78 / 412 area from 8am – 2pm. Officers will be onsite to direct traffic, however, be prepared for possible delays.
-May 20: UGI will need to close the 1600 block of Maple Street between Hamilton St and Washington Ave from 7am – 3pm. Emergency services will have access as needed.
-May 21: Penndot will be milling the Columbia Street ramp onto the Fahy Bridge and will need to close it from approximately 9am – 3pm.
-May 21-22: A contractor will be replacing a waterline on Main Street between Durham St and Locust St. They will be in the center of the road and will not need to close any lanes.
-May 22-23: PennDOT will be milling Broadway between 378 and Bisopthorpe Street and will need to restrict lanes with flagmen from 9am-3pm.
-The City’s contractor will begin construction on Wednesday, April 24, for the traffic signal upgrades at Center St & Elizabeth Ave and at Linden St and Union Blvd. They will begin at Center St & Elizabeth Ave, and will move to Linden St & Union Blvd. Pedestrian detours, lane shifts, and lane restrictions will occur at times throughout the project, which is expected to last approximately 1 month. This project includes the installation of new signals, handicap ramps, sidewalks, etc. and is part of an ongoing effort to improve the City’s traffic signals.
-UGI will have crews on Rockland Street between Jennings St and Monterey St beginning Wednesday, May 8, and lasting for approximately 3-4 weeks. They will also need to work on Jennings Street between Walters St and Hilton St during this time. Roads will remain open, however, traffic will be shifted.
-Beginning April 10, UGI will be working on replacing a main along Maple Street between Market St and Garrison St, and on Garrison St between Maple St and Elm St. Traffic will be shifted throughout this project, which is expected to last for the next 3 months. Please use caution through the work area.
-Beginning Monday, April 29, all traffic will be shifted to the southbound lanes, leaving only one lane in each direction. This restriction will be between Shimersville Rd and Daly Ave and will be in place until early 2014.
-Due to recent inspection results, the High Street Bridge to Hellertown will be closed immediately. Please be aware that due to the prior closing of the Seidersville Road bridge by Northampton County, there will no longer be thru traffic from Ravena Street or High Street. Signs, barricades, etc. have been installed to warn traffic of the closure. The City has been actively pursuing replacement of the High Street Bridge; however, until the replacement, alternate routes shall be taken.
