Schuylkill Co - Bridge Replacement Project in Upper Mahantango Twp

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced construction will begin Monday (Aug. 8) to replace the structurally deficient Ridge Road Bridge over Little Mahantango Creek in Upper Mahantango Township, Schuylkill County.
 
During construction Ridge Road will be closed and detoured between Mill and Valley roads. The posted detour utilizes Mill and Valley roads.
 
This project is expected to be complete in October 2012. All schedules are weather dependent.
 
Minichi Inc. of Dupont, Pa. is the general contractor on the $1,091,000 project.
 
The Ridge Road Bridge was constructed in 1937. The Bridge is a steel I-beam bridge that is 66 feet long and 25 feet wide with an average daily traffic of 449 vehicles. The new bridge will be a 89 feet long, 24 feet wide, concrete T-beam bridge.
