77 Police Departments to Participate in Thanksgiving Seat Belt, DUI Enforcement Activities Across Philadelphia Region
Police departments from 77 municipalities across Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties today announced seat-belt enforcement activities as part of the national Thanksgiving “Click It or Ticket” enforcement mobilization. The enforcement will be conducted from November 23-30, on various roadways across the region.
During these joint enforcement operations, many municipal police departments will conduct seat-belt and DUI enforcement at the same time.
CHESTER AND MONTGOMERY COUNTIES
PennDOT today announced that the newly rehabilitated bridge carrying Linfield Road over the Schuylkill River in East Coventry Township, Chester County, and Limerick Township, Montgomery County, will reopen to traffic at 5:00 PM today.
NEW ADDITION 11/24/15
The newly constructed Route 213 (Maple Avenue) bridge over Neshaminy Creek in Middletown and Lower Southampton townships, Bucks County, will be opened to traffic tomorrow morning, November 25. Construction began in July to replace the structurally deficient bridge and was completed nearly a month ahead of schedule.
The Hilltown Township Water and Sewer Authority will restrict Minsi Trail and Blooming Glen Road in Bucks County for utility construction, May 13 through the end of November. The roads will be restricted weekdays from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
The work schedule is:
Minsi Trail will be closed and detoured between Blue School Road and Route 113. Motorists will be detoured over Blue School Road, Route 313, and Route 113;
Minsi Trail will be reduced to one lane between Route 113 and Forest Road; and
Blooming Glen Road will be reduced to one lane between Route 113 and Harvest Lane.
Travel restrictions are scheduled on U.S. 422 and Route 363 (Trooper Road) in Upper Providence, Lower Providence and West Norriton townships, Montgomery County, on Monday, November 23, and Tuesday, November 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for roadwork.
Lane closures will be in place on U.S. 422 east and west for line painting, pavement marker installations, and overhead sign lighting. An eastbound lane will be closed between the Oaks and Route 363 (Trooper Road) interchanges, and a westbound lane will be closed from the bridge over the Schuylkill River to the Route 363 (Trooper Road) Interchange.
In addition, travel restrictions will occur on Route 363 (Trooper Road) between U.S. 422 and Audubon Road, and on Audubon Road approaching the intersection with Route 363 (Trooper Road) for line painting, sign installations, and traffic signal work.
North Wales Water Authority is scheduled to close Walnut Street between Main Street and Shearer Street in North Wales Borough, Montgomery County, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM starting Wednesday, September 16, for water and sewer replacement. The weekday closure will be in effect through mid-December.
During this operation, Walnut Street through traffic will be detoured over North Wales Road, Morris Road, Route 363 (Valley Forge Road) and Sumneytown Pike. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.
The construction schedule is contingent on the weather.
Construction will begin Monday, November 2, on a project to rehabilitate the bridge carrying Orvilla Road over the West Branch of Neshaminy Creek in Hatfield Township, Montgomery County.
Motorists will continue to use the posted detour around the Orvilla Road construction area by taking County Line Road, Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike), Broad Street and Route 463 (Cowpath Road).
The project is scheduled to finish in Spring 2016.
Construction is scheduled to begin Tuesday, November 17, to rehabilitate the Graterford Road bridge over the Perkiomen Creek in Perkiomen and Skippack townships, Montgomery County. During construction, Graterford Road through traffic will continue to follow the posted detour of Route 29, Plank Road, and Route 73. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area. The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic in late April 2016.
The East Penn Railroad will close Route 52 (Kennett Pike) between Pond View Drive and Burrow Run Road in Kennett Township, Chester County from 6:00 PM Friday, November 13, to 5:00 Monday, November 16, for the replacement of a railroad crossing.
During the weekend operation, Route 52 (Kennett Pike) through traffic will be detoured over Hillendale Road and Burrow Run Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.
Aqua Pennsylvania is schedule to close Wayne Avenue between Holly Road and Deepdale Road in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, starting Monday, November 30, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for water main replacement. The weekday closure will be in effect through late December.
During construction, Wayne Avenue through traffic will be detoured over Upper Gulph Road, Old Eagle School Road and U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue). Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area. The construction schedule is contingent on the weather.
Construction will begin Tuesday, October 20, to rehabilitate two bridges on Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in Atglen Borough and West Fallowfield and West Sadsbury townships, Chester County. The project is scheduled to finish in December.
During construction, Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) will be closed and detoured between Route 10 (Limestone Road/Church Street/Octorara Trail) and U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway). Travelers will be detoured over Route 10 (Limestone Road/Church Street/Octorara Trail) and U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway). Local access will be maintained up to the construction area.
Prior to the start of the bridge construction on Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike), PennDOT upgraded traffic signals and modified intersections along the detour route to better accommodate heavy truck and vehicular traffic.
Aqua Pennsylvania is planning weekday closures starting Tuesday, September 29, on Swedesford Road in East Whiteland Township, Chester County, and Springfield Road in Collingdale and Darby boroughs, Delaware County, for water main replacements.
Tuesday, September 29 through Friday, December 4, Springfield Road will be closed between Rively Avenue and U.S.13 (MacDade Boulevard) Mondays through Fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. During construction, motorists will be detoured over U.S. 13 (MacDade Boulevard), Main Street and Providence Road.
Local access will be maintained up to the construction zones. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these areas. The schedules are dependent on the weather.
Work on the Knox Covered Bridge is expected to start in September, following an eight-week timeframe for the delivery of the necessary materials. The Knox Covered Bridge is expected to reopen late this year (2015)
One lane will be closed daily on the northbound Interstate 95 ramp to northbound Interstate 476, from Friday, October 2 through Tuesday, December 1.
