Chester Co - Creek Rd Bridge Rehab
Construction began May 1 to repair and improve the Creek Road Bridge over Taylor Run in East Bradford Township, Chester County.
Crews will work over the next two months to restore and rehabilitate the bridge’s stone masonry substructure and replace the bridge railing. The project is expected to be completed by the end of June.
During construction, Creek Road will be closed and detoured between Route 162 and Route 842. Through traffic will be detoured over Route 162, High Street, Route 52 and Route 842. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.
The two-span, concrete encased I-beam bridge was built in 1914. The structure is 48 feet long and 22 feet wide. It carries 2,409 vehicles a day.
The rehabilitation of the Creek Road Bridge is part of PennDOT’s $914,262 project to repair and improve eight bridges in Chester County. Road-Con. Inc of West Chester, Chester County is the general contractor on the project that is funded with 100 percent federal funds.
