Summer comes to an end today as fall begins at 10:21 this morning. If you enjoy summer and the warmer temperatures, these next couple of days will still seem rather pleasant. However, this warmth won't last as we see a cool-down and more fall-like conditions this weekend.
This morning will start off with some patchy fog in spots, but that will burn off to allow for plenty of sunshine today. This first fall afternoon will still feel rather summer-like as we see a good amount of sun and warm temperatures with highs in the mid 80s. We'll be about 10-15 degrees above our average highs, which are down into the low and mid 70s for late September. Clear skies remain with us tonight into Friday, which will allow temperatures to fall into the mid 50s once again.
The first full day of fall on Friday will have even more of a summer-like feel as highs approach the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. It will also be a bit more humid. While Friday should start out with sunny skies, look for the clouds to increase a bit late in the day as a cold front begins to sink southeast out of Canada. That front will weaken as it makes its way into Pennsylvania and New Jersey, but we may still squeeze a stray shower or two out of this front Friday night and Saturday morning.
The rest of the weekend will be dry and much cooler with highs in the mid and upper 70s on Saturday and then only reaching around 70 degrees for Sunday. These more seasonable conditions will last with us as we head into next week.
