A very warm and humid afternoon has already given way to some severe storms around the region.

Strong winds have toppled numerous trees, bringing down power lines in parts of Lehigh County.

The official temperature in Allentown at 1 p.m. was 86 degrees. Less than an hour later, it was more than 10 degrees lower.

Watch for more heavy showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening. Any thunderstorm can become severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain.

Flash flooding is possible with showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon and Friday night. High temperatures on Friday will hold in the lower and middle 80s.
