***EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FOR THE GREATER PHILADELPHIA AREA THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON***
***EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FOR PARTS OF SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA AND MOST OF NEW JERSEY FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON***
With the heat this weekend, make sure you are staying hydrated, wearing light clothing and staying in air conditioned areas. Please take care of pets and check on children and the elders. The UV index this weekend will also remain high so try to stay out of direct sun, frequently apply sunscreen and wear sunglasses and a hat.
We saw plenty of sun Saturday, but there were a few thunderstorms in southern parts of the viewing area. With that activity now gone, skies will be mainly clear overnight with less humidity and temperatures falling into the mid 60s.
Sunday looks mostly sunny as high temperatures reach the mid 90s. The record for ABE is 95 degrees (set in 1999) and 96 degrees for RDG (set in 2010), so we could tie or break those records for Sunday.
The heat sticks around for next week, so expect highs to soar into the 90s. Monday will be especially humid with a shower or thunderstorm later in the day, but the rest of the week is looking partly to mostly sunny for now.
