Local Forecast Discussion

Today: Cloudy and cool with occasional rain. High: 55

Tonight: Cloudy and damp; intermittent rain and drizzle, then a lingering shower. Low: 48

Saturday: Clouds and occasional sunny breaks; milder with a shower in spots. High: 63 Low: 49

Today features some steadier, heavier rain, but as we head into this evening, look for the rain to gradually taper back to eventual lingering showers. Rainfall amounts prior to this tapering will be between .5" to 1" across the viewing area with locally higher amounts. Highs today will top out in the low to mid 50s under overcast skies.

There's some improvement on the way this weekend, with milder temperatures and some sunshine returning. There could be a shower or two around on Saturday, but it won't be nearly as wet as today and temperatures reach back into the low 60s. If enough sunshine breaks out of the clouds, those temps could be a tad milder. Mother's Day on Sunday will feature even more improvement, but first, some showers and a possible thunderstorm will move through Saturday night into early Sunday morning. That action is associated with a cold front and in its wake, the clouds will clear out a bit. The winds out of the northwest will be breezy, but it will also help to dry things out. Despite the northwesterly wind, highs are still expected to reach the mid to upper 60s on Sunday.

The work week starts out dry with intervals of clouds and sun on Monday, but the showers and thunderstorms move right back in on Tuesday. The good news about next week is that the temperatures are expected to be warmer, with highs in the low 70s.
