A hot and humid day is on tap across the region with partly sunny skies and high temperatures soaring into the lower 90s. A cool front will approach later this afternoon with thunderstorm in some locations. The front will move through tonight bringing a few showers and thunderstorms, some of which can contain drenching downpours and wind gusts past 40 mph. Wednesday looks nice with mostly sunny skies and less humid conditions. High temperatures will reach the middle 80s as our warm start to September continues. Thursday also looks dry with mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 80s.
