Local Forecast Discussion

Today: Humid with sunshine and some clouds. A PM shower or t-storm, mainly Poconos. High: 90

Tonight: Some rain from Bonnie (potential for drenching downpours). Low: 66

Memorial Day (Monday): Rain from Bonnie in the morning; mostly cloudy in the afternoon with a shower/t-storm N & W (watch for flooding early). High: 76 Low: 62

Started a heat wave on Thursday, three consecutive days with 90 degree highs, and now this afternoon we will continue this heat wave going with temperatures reaching the 90s. Another hot and humid day making it really feel like summer. Look for sunshine and some clouds, especially as we go through the rest of this afternoon. And once again a shower or thunderstorm possible, especially the Poconos.

Then tonight we will stream in some tropical moisture from the south causing rain to be steadier and heavier at times tonight into Monday morning. This tropical moisture is associated with Tropical Storm Bonnie near the Carolina coast.

Memorial Day Monday will have some rain in the morning. The rain can be heavy at times causing some localized flooding, but it should taper off during the afternoon. However, with daytime heating, the late afternoon and evening could feature a pop-up shower or thunderstorm until a front swings through and clears us out. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies with highs only reaching the upper 70s. It should still be humid despite not being as hot, and if the rain moves out sooner to allow for more sunshine, temperatures may be able to get back into the 80s.

Tracking that cold front late Monday into Tuesday to dry conditions out and lower humidity for the middle of the week. But temperatures remaining warm in the 80s!
