***Wind Advisory in effect for the area through early this morning***
***Winter Storm Watch in effect for Berks, Lehigh Valley and northern areas from Sunday night through Monday Afternoon***
A clear and cold start to the day with temperatures in the teens, feeling like below zero with the gusty winds.
Despite a tremendous amount of sunshine today, highs will only make it into the low 20s, but the biting wind will again make it feel like the teens and single digits for most of the day. Sunday will be less windy and warmer with highs bouncing back into the low and mid 30s.
However our next storm system is approaching from the west and will enter the region by late Sunday afternoon. The clouds will be increasing all day long with snow arriving as early as late afternoon. After the sun sets on Sunday the snow will begin to overspread the area and continue into Monday. At this point most of the models are indicating that this could be a fairly significant snowfall event for our area, but it's still a little too early for specific numbers.
Also the models are fluctuating with where the rain/snow line sets up, if the line is farther north than less snow and if the line is farther south than more snow. We'll continue to keep our eyes on the storm and each model run to fine tune all the details, tracking, timing and intensity. That said, once the system clears the region bitter cold air will be rushing in and potentially some record cold on Tuesday morning.
