Local Forecast Discussion

Tonight: Cooler and windy with occasional rain and drizzle. Low: 46

Saturday: Very windy and much cooler with showers, mainly early; some sun returning from south to north. High: 52

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, brisk and chilly. Low: 39

After a dry and warm day with highs near 80 degrees, the area will see periods of rain and drizzle tonight. Some of that rain will be locally heavy, which could lead to localized flooding. When it's not raining tonight we can expect mostly cloudy skies as winds pick-up and lows fall into the mid and upper 40s.

Saturday will begin with a few showers (especially to the north and east) and rather cloudy skies, but as the days rolls on the showers will taper and the clouds will slowly break up for some sun from south to north. This means that will areas south of the Lehigh Valley may be done with the showers early in the day, that it may take until the late afternoon or evening before the spotty shower activity exits northern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Rainfall totals through the first half of the weekend will vary from a .25" to .75" with the heavier and locally higher amounts will occur north and northwest of the Lehigh Valley. Otherwise, Saturday will be windy with sustained winds between 12 and 25 miles per hour and gusts up to 45. Those winds combined with temperatures that will only return to the low and mid 50s means that for most of the day it will feel like it's in the 40s and possibly 30s to the north. There will still be a cool breeze around on Sunday, but it will also be warmer with highs near 60 degrees and sunnier skies.

Sunday night into Monday a wave of low pressure will swing through the region bringing the possibility of some showers. Aside from a shower early in the day on Monday, the remainder of the day will feature partial sunshine, breezy conditions and highs in the low 60s.
