Monday commute could be wet with rain, snow

***Winter Storm Warning for southern New Jersey through midnight Monday night***

***Winter Weather Advisory for parts of the area through 6 p.m. Monday***

Some snow will overspread the area from southwest to northeast this morning, continue for much of the day and then taper off later this afternoon and into this evening.

This will mainly be a snow event for our area, but a bit of rain could mix in at times as well (especially southeast of the Lehigh Valley).

Accumulation amounts will end up around 2-4" for a good portion of the area with 1-3" in our southeastern locations.

Monday: Becoming rather windy and colder with periods of snow, esp. after 8 a.m.; 2-4" for most places with 1-3" to the southeast (see map at High: 38

Monday night: Snow ending early, otherwise; brisk and cold with partial clearing overnight. Low: 28

Tuesday: Breezy with intervals of clouds and sunshine. High: 44 Low: 28

While most of the accumulation will occur on non-paved surfaces traveling on area roadways could still be a little dicey at times today, so be careful.

As the storm is pulling away later on tonight, look for partial clearing as temperatures fall to near 30 degrees.

Aside from an isolated sprinkle or flurry, Tuesday will be dry with intervals of clouds and sunshine and highs in the lower and mid 40s.

A rain or snow shower is possible on both Wednesday and Thursday as temperatures climb into the mid 40s on both days, but the winds combined with those temperatures appear as if they will steal the headlines once again.
