Polar plunge to continue through Wednesday

It was a brisk and bitterly cold afternoon with highs holding in the middle teens and wind chills in the single digits to near zero.

Wednesday will still be cold with partly sunny skies and highs in the lower 20s.

Temperatures will moderate through the end of the week with highs on Thursday in the upper 20s; Friday's highs will reach the lower 30s.

No significant snow is expected this week, although some rain and snow showers could be around this weekend.
