***Winter Weather Advisory in effect through early Wednesday morning***

This afternoon the region will experience cloudy skies as temperatures climb into the 30s and snow overspreads the area from west to east. The snow will mix with and change to sleet and freezing rain this evening, then to perhaps plain rain later tonight. Before the change of to plain rain occurs, look for a coating to an inch of snow/ice accumulation for southern parts of the area and a general 1 to 2 inches in the central and northern parts of the region with locally higher amounts.

We will see some rain and drizzle at times on Wednesday with highs in the lower and middle 40s, but colder air wraps in late Wednesday night and Thursday and snow will break out. It looks like several inches of snow can fall with that system. Stay tuned for updated details, but here's a look at our snowfall probabilities for most of the viewing area at this moment.

Snowfall Probabilities for Wednesday night into Thursday:

Chances for 1-3": 20%

Chances for 3-6": 60%

Chances for 6+": 20%
