Showers, storms precede holiday weekend

Matt's afternoon forecast

We are seeing areas of showers and an isolated thunderstorm this afternoon as a warm front continues to hang close to the region.

Some areas are pretty wet while others have seen little or no rain at all.

We will deal with periods of rain and a thunderstorm tonight as well.

High temperatures will top out in the middle 70s this afternoon.

Thursday will be similar with variably cloudy skies and scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Friday will also be unsettled with a shower or two along with a thunderstorm in parts of the area.

With a lot of cold air aloft, there could be some small hail in any shower or storm. Friday's highs will hold in the upper 60s.
