Snow, ice, rain make for tricky travel, possible flooding

A major storm system will continue to affect the area through Wednesday with heavy rain into Wednesday.

Most parts of our area started with a wintry mix late Tuesday morning.

Northern parts of our area struggled with temps near freezing all day Tuesday and will continue to deal with freezing rain into part of the overnight hours.

However, even in the colder spots, temperatures are expected to get above the freezing mark.

Wednesday: Windy with periods of rain, heavy at times. Rain could end as a bit of snow late PM/evening. High: 49 Low: 26

A general 1.5" - 3" inches of rain is expected with this storm system through Wednesday.

Some flooding is likely Wednesday.

Also, the wind will be a factor on Wednesday with gusts as high as 40 mph.

The rain could end as a brief period of snow Wednesday afternoon and evening as some colder air moves into the region.

Also, there can be slick roads Wednesday night as the temperature drops below freezing.

Temperatures will continue to climb overnight and Wednesday will hit the upper 40s.

Thanksgiving Day will feature partly sunny skies and windy conditions. High temperatures will hold in the middle 30s.
