***FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FOR MOST OF THE VIEWING AREA UNTIL NOON ON FRIDAY***
Highs reached back into the 90s on Thursday out ahead of some strong storms. Those storms and periods of rain will continue to effect us overnight as a wave of low pressure passes through the viewing area. Heavy rains with this event may cause flash flooding in some locations tonight into Friday morning before the rain tapers to showers. All told, most of the region will receive between 1" and 2" of rain before the rain tapers to a stray shower or two mid to late Friday morning. In fact, just through the afternoon and evening hours on Thursday some cities had already received .5" to 1". During this time, overnight lows will dip to around 70 degrees. Friday afternoon highs will only bounce back into the low and mid 80s as some sunshine returns to the area. All of that will occur with humid conditions.
Highs this weekend will also be in the 80s with humid conditions and some rain. The later part of the day on Saturday will present the best chance for a shower or thunderstorm, but on Sunday the activity could come at any time during the day. Stay tuned for updates as we fine tune this weekend's forecast.
