Local Forecast Discussion

Today: Plenty of sunshine, still cold. High: 28

Tonight: Very cold with increasing clouds. Low: 9

Sunday: Cloudy and cold with some snow from midday on. High: 31 Low: 29

A clear and cold start this morning. Starting off in the single digits in most location and will only get into the upper 20s this afternoon, even under plenty of sunshine.

Sunday will be a bit warmer with temperatures in the 30s, but by the afternoon we will have to watch our next system which will push snow, ice and perhaps rain through the night. Slick spots and slushy spots are possible prior to the Monday morning commute. Snow could start off light in the late morning hours on Sunday before overspreading the area by the afternoon. Snow approaches the area from west during the morning and moves east during the afternoon. We can expect some snow/ice accumulations Sunday afternoon to Monday morning…around 2-4" of snow is possible for northern Berks & northern Lehigh and then 1-2" is possible for southern Berks & southern Lehigh (see map below). Totals will be dependent on the duration and how fast we mix with ice/rain.

We'll continue to monitor the details of that system over the next couple days so stay tuned for the very latest.
