Today: Sunshine and some clouds; nice for early February. High: 44
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low: 21
(Super Bowl) Sunday: Mild with sunshine and some clouds. High: 47 Low: 27
Looks like a SUPER quiet weekend for weather. It's a seasonable afternoon with sunshine and temperatures in the mid 40s. Tonight, skies remain partly cloudy and temperatures drop to the lower 20s. Just watch out for any refreeze creating black ice overnight into tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow looks a bit milder with highs in the upper 40s and skies remaining mostly sunny. Now we are watching a coastal storm to ride up along the Jersey shore tomorrow. This storm, as the models are showing, should stay to the south and east and not impact our area yet. Could brush the coast with snow Sunday night into Monday morning, most locations in our viewing won't see anything until Monday night. However, there is still a chance for this system to pull back in and impact our area on Monday with accumulating snow.
Monday, we are tracking a powerful trough to dig down and interact with some leftover moisture from the first storm. The interaction could be when the trough digs down and meets up with the first coastal low, it transfers energy to another developing coastal low. This setup has the potential to bring snow to the region. Still a little too early to get into the details on the specifics, but stay tuned over the weekend and on Monday.
For now, the timing and thinking is as followed: Monday watch for possible snow, Tuesday will mostly likely have snow and then a flurry or snow shower on Wednesday and Thursday.
After these systems move through, temperatures for the second half of next week and next weekend will actually have below normal high temperatures in the upper 20s and lower 30s.
Have a SUPER weekend!
