UPPER NAZARETH TWP., Pa. - The National Guard is no longer at Gracedale Nursing Home in Northampton County.
More than 30 members were deployed to the facility late last month to help with a staffing shortage due to the virus. They stayed through Sunday, officials said.
As of Monday, 39 residents at Gracedale have died from COVID-19.
So far, 159 residents have tested positive for the virus, according to a Northampton County news release. Of those, 35 residents have recovered, while 16 are in the hospital.
Also, 43 employees have tested positive; 34 have finished their quarantine periods and are back at work.
About 700 employees work at Gracedale.
