EASTON, Pa. - Northampton County officials came together Thursday for Operation BBQ relief to help those who need food.
The Northampton County Department of Community and Economic Development, in collaboration with the Lehigh Valley Food Policy Council, distributed about 1700 meal boxes.
Officials distributed the boxes in the parking lot of the county government center in Easton. Each person received a breakfast meal which will feed four people.
"Today we are trying to help people who are struggling during this pandemic. As you know the unemployment rates in the Lehigh Valley have skyrocketed," said Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure.
They plan to do this two more times, in Bethlehem and the Slate Belt.
