READING, Pa. - Reading police are investigating the deaths of two people inside an apartment on the city's south side.

The pair were found Sunday morning in a unit at the Riverloft apartments on Pearl Street.

Police said neighbors called after they hadn't seen the man and woman, who lived in one of the apartments, for more than two weeks. Neighbors said it was unusual not to see them and that there was a foul odor in the hallway.

RPD officers arrived on the scene around 10 a.m. Sunday and discovered the pair dead. So far, they haven't determined their identities or causes of death.

"There's nothing to indicate that there's a danger to other people in the community right now, but the investigation is still ongoing," said Capt. Paul Reilly, Reading Police Department.

Reilly said neighbors said it may have been as far back as Thanksgiving when anyone last saw the two.
