READING, Pa. - Regardless of how well the Reading Fightin Phils do on the field this year, 2020 promises to be a memorable season in Baseballtown.
The R-Phils announced Thursday their lineup of Opening Night promotions, which include a special giveaway to commemorate the 70th anniversary of FirstEnergy Stadium.
The first 3,500 adults who pass through the ballpark's gates on April 9 will be given a fleece blanket that features a special logo and then-and-now photos of FirstEnergy Stadium.
One lucky fan will also be awarded a free trip for two to Clearwater, Florida, for the Philadelphia Phillies' 2021 spring training.
To drum up even more excitement for Opening Night, the Fightins are offering special deals on tickets for the April 9 game. From now through Sunday, fans can save $3 on either a green box seat or on a loge box seat that features waitress service.
Ceremonial first pitches are also on sale for $40.
Gates on Opening Night will open at 4 p.m. for a pregame concert in the ballpark plaza. The first pitch is set for 7:10 p.m.
