WYOMISSING, Pa. - Organizers of one of the area's biggest used-book sales said this year's event was a big success.

Berks County Public Libraries announced Wednesday that the 2019 Berks Book Bonanza raised nearly $68,000. That's approximately $21,000 more than was raised in 2018.

The bonanza attributes some of this year's success to the Berkshire Mall in Wyomissing, which doubled the amount of space it provided for July's four-day fundraiser.

The money raised will go to public libraries in Berks County and to scholarships for local girls and women.
